Firefox 3.5 and QuickProxy
First I want to say thanks again for all the positive feedback I’ve receieved for this extension. Development is still active for QuickProxy, and I’m hoping to release a 3.5 compatible version soon. As the last version was rushed and contained bugs that could have been avoided, I didn’t want to repeat those steps with this release. We have almost completed testing the extension internally, and are hoping to have the last known issue corrected soon, with a new version being submitted to Mozilla for approval on Friday.
Thanks a lot sir!
Looking forward to it!
Great news. Thank you for your time and effort!
Brilliant news! This extension makes my work laptop almost usable! Damnable work proxies messing up my VPN/non-VPN setup…
Thanks so much
Your work is appreciated, and I like the bit about getting it right before release. Cheers.
Wonderful! Thank you!
Muchas gracias!
Thanks!
good news!
thanks for your work
great to hear this news! Thank you very much !
Sounds good 🙂
If you need external testers, please let me know …
Great tool. cant wait for the 3.5 update 🙂
Thanks for a great add-on. Looking forward to a 3.5 compatible version!
Yay. I love quick proxy for it’s simplicity and ease of use.
Thanks!
I am so happy to read that there will be a QP release for FirFox 3.5. I really liked using it in previous version of FireFox and since it doesn’t work with 3.5 (yet) I tried some other and they suck. Can’t wait and keep up the good work.
Really miss QP now it’s not there. Can’t wait for the 3.5 compatible version!
can’t wait, too 🙂
Did they changed so much in proxy settings in FF 3.5? Is there a workaround to test the old version with FF 3.5 or to beta test a new version?
Thanks.
Great, simple, and useful addons for Firefox.
Waiting for new version.
Great extension. Keep up the good work!
@Eddy
Same here: It makes my dreadful corporate proxy settings at least manageable – and I love the simplicity of Quickproxy! Keep up the great work, can’t wait for the 3.5 version & thanks very, very much for your efforts!
So looking forward to the 3.5 compatible QP release!!
Thank you! I hope this extension will be soon available for Firefox 3.5.
thanks a lot, looking forward to it, this addon is really cool and it has come really handy, whoa!
Hi,
thank you very much for this news! I’m using Quickproxy when I’m browsing with my university’s internet access points, ’cause they want me to use a proxy.
Looking forward to the 3.5-version’s release, keep up the good work!!
Great to hear you’ll be publishing the 3.5 compatible version! Had to upgrade to 3.5 because of major instability issues that were even more important for me to fix than being able to use your great add-on. Looking forward to be able to use your plugin again soon.
Great news, I was actually considering going back to 3.0 I rely on QuickProxy so often.
Just installed the latest version and it works just perfect.
Thanks a lot

Hello from Paris
I use QuickProxy a lot and
I would like to know if the latest version of QuickProxy compatible with FireFox 3.5 has been released and where can I downlooad this new version ?
Best regards
Hi Willy,
If you check out the latest post on here, that should give you all the details about the latest QuickProxy release which is compatible with FireFox 3.5.
Bad move.
I think the majority of people, like me, will not wait for your bug fixing phase and just move to a different proxy switch add-on.
e.g. i’ve found Multiproxy Switch 1.30, which does the same job.
Next time you should release things earlier even if there is some bugs, or all users will move to something else.
Paolo
Currently QuickProxy has been waiting almost 2 weeks for approval for 3.5, and it’s definitely not bug free. My major concern was the reports that I was getting about QuickProxy forcing the proxy on after being installed, no matter what people did with it (https://ozzie.io/2009/04/Ozzie/16/quickproxy-20090328-known-bug/#comments). As much as I didn’t want to release it late to the users of QuickProxy, I feel releasing something that didn’t behave as they needed it to would have driven more people away than releasing a new version 3 days late.
If people do move away to a new extension that’s their choice, but I’d prefer users to know that they are updating to a solid version with QuickProxy.
Hi Ozzie
Sorry but my english is really basic and I don’t understand your answer !
You wrote “check out the latest post on here, that should give you all the details about the latest QuickProxy release which is compatible with FireFox 3.5 ” I read carrefully all the post and I didn’t find any indication on where I can download a QuickProxy version compatible with FireFox 3.5 I am very sorry !
Best regards
Thanks for the upgrade. QuickProxy was the reason why I didn’t update immediately when FF 3.5 became available.
Thanks, it helps me a lot. The proxy of my job sucks and i cant let it always on.
Hello
Thanks for that nice and simple extension.Fast and efficient. No need to be more complicated !
Unfortunately when updating from Firefox 3.5 to 3.51 today, the update desactivated QuickProxy! What a shame. Do you know, approximately, when quickproxy will work with Firefox 3.51 ?
I will turn back to an older version of Firefox if QuickProxy doesn’t work soon with V 3.51!
Go on with your fine job . Thanks again
Hi,

Oliver
Hi Oliver,
If you check the newer posts on here, you will find all the details on how to get the 3.5.* compatible version with the extension. Or you can visit https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/1557 and get it directly.
I installed this plugin, but I am at a loss how to use it. It’d be helpful for newbies if you could post some instructions for configuring the addon. Thanks
I’ve updated the QuickProxy page on this site with further details, including a Configuration section which should cover this in the future:
